Stones of Remembrance

After reading and studying Joshua 3 & 4, where the Lord performed another miracle of passage for the Israelites to walk through another body of water and instructed them through Joshua to build a memorial of stones to commemorate what he did, God began to deal with my heart about doing the same. So, I created this "Stones of Remembrance" jar for my family and me to keep a record of all the ways God worked in our life recently.

I purchased this 2-gallon jar from Target, lined the bottom with white stones from Hobby Lobby cut squares of glossy, glitter card stock and wrote on them the recent blessings, miracles, and ways God has moved in our personal, immediate family life (and we still have PLENTY more to add).

The jar rests on the counter in my dining room/kitchen area because it's a common gathering place for our family and each time I, my husband, my kids, or anyone who visits our home looks at this jar, we will be reminded of what God has done to build and sustain our faith and confidence that He'll do it again.

"The things that God does for us are not just for us but for others to see and know that mighty power and hand of God in our lives. It's for His glory and acknowledgment. "...So that all the peoples of the earth may know [without any doubt] and acknowledge that the hand of the Lord is mighty and extraordinarily powerful, so that you will fear the Lord your God [and obey and worship Him with profound awe and reverence] forever."

Joshua 4:24 AMP"
